BOSNIA HERZEGOVINA

Another country with a tragic history, Sis. The hilltop where Kim’s View is overlooking Sarajevo is also where the Serbian army positioned tanks and artillery to rain bombs on Bosnian civilians. The siege of Sarajevo lasted almost four years during the early nineties, and over thirteen thousand people were killed. I’ll never forget the memorial in the city center, just for the thousands of murdered children. But ironically, Sarajevo is a diverse, multicultural city where Christians, Jews, and Muslims have lived in harmony for centuries.
