Wow, Sis, it’s not every day that you’re three miles away from a terrorist attack that kills twenty-one innocent people. When Al-Shabbab attacked Nairobi on January 15, 2019, I was getting a root canal just seven kilometers away. I prefer to be much farther away from terror attacks! Otherwise, Nairobi was fun; my tour of Kibera slum—one of the world’s largest—was fascinating, and I reloaded my wardrobe with cheap, second-hand shorts, shirts, and shoes from Toi Market. Kim’s View among the infamous flamingoes at Lake Nakuru is pretty cool, too.
