Germany was another country on my wish list, Kim, and ‘Germania’ lived up to her reputation! I enjoyed wandering around six cities including Germany’s oldest, Trier. I soaked up rich German history, from the Roman empire in Trier, to the city-state, Hanseatic powerhouse Hamburg, and the capital Berlin’s war museums and infamous wall. Kim’s View at St. Michael’s Monastery is a classic; overlooking medieval Heidelberg, the Old Bridge, and ‘Philosopher’s Way’ along the river Neckar. And Kim’s View of Trier’s Roman Amphitheater and surrounding vineyards is awesome, too.
